light bulb balloon

I was inspired by Rook No. 17's repurposed light bulb hot air balloons and decided to try one myself. I love making trash cute. I have to say this was the messiest project I've ever done. I didn't follow Jenn's tutorial and I should have because I thought it would be easy enough to just slap that decoupage stuff and glue everywhere and be done with it. I'm not experienced with the decoupage stuff and we did not get along. I had a thin sheer crust covering all exposed skin. But after it all I was happy with how the balloon turned out. It looks really cute in Violet's room.

I cut petal shapes out of fabric and used decoupage glue to seal them to the light bulb. I used a coordinating black and white striped fabric to trip the bottom. The basket is a Children's Advil cap that I glued twine to.
